Students do a shark tank Simulation in which they pick an invention from the Han Dynasty, create an advertisement and then share it in small groups for their fellow sharks. The student must make an advertisement as well as do a write up about the history of their invention and then share it with their group. An example that I made about stirrups is attached as well!

Activity includes some quick slides to give context about the Magna Carta (during which I act like an evil ruler and follow King John by taking their things as taxes, making them sit under their desks for no reason, making them call me Queen, etc.) And then I put them in groups of Barons to rewrite the Magna Carta (I have an original translation attached) in to more modern day terms if it was written today.
