About the store
I am a retired elementary teacher with years of experience working with students across multiple grade levels. Throughout my career, I taught a wide range of learners and developed a strong understanding of curriculum standards, instructional pacing, and classroom management. My classroom experience included planning engaging lessons, differentiating instruction, and creating materials that supported student success. Over time, I discovered a passion for designing resources that were both effective and teacher-friendly—resources that helped students stay motivated while allowing teachers to focus on instruction rather than preparation. Today, I bring that experience into every resource created at Dyeing to Design, ensuring each activity is practical, purposeful, and easy to use in real classrooms.

My classroom experience included planning engaging lessons, differentiating instruction, and creating materials that supported student success. Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, creativity, and student engagement. I believe learning is most effective when lessons are thoughtfully designed, visually clear, and accessible to all learners. I value structured instruction supported by interactive activities, games, and hands-on experiences that keep students actively involved. Seasonal themes and creative formats are used intentionally—to spark interest while reinforcing essential skills. As a retired teacher, my focus is on supporting today’s educators with low-prep, flexible resources that work in a variety of settings, including whole group, small group, centers, and independent practice. My goal is to help teachers feel confident and students feel successful through well-designed instruction.

Awards & shining teacher moments

As a retired elementary teacher, my most meaningful teaching moments come from years spent designing lessons that helped students grow in confidence and understanding. Seeing students engaged, motivated, and proud of their learning has always been my greatest reward. Throughout my career, I took pride in creating thoughtfully designed, classroom-tested resources that supported a wide range of learners. From hands-on activities to interactive lessons, these moments of success—when students understood a challenging concept or felt excited to learn—continue to shape the way I design resources today. At Dyeing to Design, my shining moments now come from supporting teachers by sharing practical, creative materials built on real classroom experience. Knowing these resources continue to make a positive impact beyond my own classroom is both rewarding and meaningful.

My own education history

My education background includes formal training in elementary education combined with years of hands-on classroom experience. Over the course of my teaching career, I continually developed my instructional skills through curriculum planning, classroom practice, and ongoing professional learning. As a retired teacher, I draw on this strong foundation to design resources that are developmentally appropriate, standards-focused, and easy to implement. My background in education guides every aspect of my work at Dyeing to Design, ensuring each resource reflects both sound teaching practices and practical classroom needs.
