This is a simple worksheet to assess students at the beginning of the school year. It consists of translating verbal statements to algebraic expressions/equations and vice versa. I usually give this worksheet to all my ninth graders both strong and weak. This helps the students to assess how much they remember from the previous year after the summer break.
