This is the outline and grading rubric for students to create a timeline for the events surrounding slavery. It can accompany the narrative "Stolen Into Slavery" where students can add events from the life of the main character, Solomon Northup to the general events happening at the time to see how his life was influenced. It can also be used in isolation.
Students are given a website to go to to search up 9 specific dates and then must choose 3 additional dates from the timeline resource that
A month's supply of quick bell work that focuses on grammar, capitalization, writing, parts of speech, spelling, word meanings, figurative language, reading comprehension, and more. Each file can be copied as 2 sided for a 2 sided warm up or done separately for a total of 60 warm ups. A great way to start the day and get the students' brains working.
