Teaching style

The teaching style best suited for these resources is an inquiry based, experiential, hands-on teaching style that is geared to the multiple intelligences and diversified learning styles of students. I try to get my students outside, doing hands-on inquiry, as much as possible. I find that a game approach engages students, and then they can go deeper into the subject matter, ideally at their own pace and breadth. My interest right now is utilizing our collective obsession with technology to deepen the experiences in environmental and outdoor education, and how to balance green time and screen time.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have an Honours Degree in Environmental and Resource Studies from Trent University, Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University, Specialists in Math, Science, Special Education, and Environmental Education, and a Master of International Education from Charles Sturt University.
