A fun board game that is geared towards helping students understand place value and determine what comes before/after a given number. Playing this game in a small group can provide plenty of information for where students are struggling, offer "teachable moments," and help to increase mastery of this skill. This game would also be great used in a math center for independent practice.
This game is great for use in small groups and centers. Students have fun identifying patterns and finding the missing number. Mysterious missing number is a fun way to reinforce learning and observe where students need reteaching.
Math Mania is a math board game that can be adapted to target basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and inequalities. Students working at different levels can play together by targeting different skills. For example, a 2nd grader could be practicing addition facts while a 3rd grader is practicing multiplication facts during the same game! This is great for differentiating instruction and strengthening fact fluency.
