Experience

With a career that spans both the corporate and educational sectors, I bring a unique perspective to curriculum design. I transitioned from a career as a District Manager for a multi-million dollar restaurant corporation to my true calling in the classroom. Currently, I serve as the Special Education (SPED) Department Head and a 6th-grade Math teacher. I also teach engineering and manufacturing, focusing on bridging the gap between complex technical concepts and accessible, differentiated instruction for all learners.

Teaching style

My teaching philosophy is rooted in differentiation, automation, and resonance. I believe all disciplines of education should be accessible, which is why I specialize in creating scaffolds for SPED students that don't sacrifice rigor. In my classroom, I lean heavily into technology and futuristic themes and gamification—integrating logic, robotics, and structured systems to help students find their own rhythm in learning. I aim to create educational platforms that provide a seamless, tech-forward experience where students feel empowered by the tools they use.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my proudest achievements is leading the Special Education department through a period of immense growth and technological integration. Beyond the administrative wins, my 'shining moments' happen in the robotics lab, seeing students who struggle in traditional settings successfully program their first automated systems. I have also had the privilege of collaborating directly with teams at Google to discuss the future of AI and Gemini in the classroom, ensuring that the next generation of educational tools is built with teachers and SPED students in mind.

My own education history

I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, which provided the pedagogical foundation for my transition from the corporate world to the classroom. My education is a continuous journey; I am constantly researching music production, systems automation, and AI integration to ensure my teaching methods remain at the cutting edge of educational technology.

Additional biographical information

Outside of the classroom, I am a music producer and a writer currently working on my book Cryptid College: The Aethelgard Institute, and a devoted 'pet parent' to a small army of cats and dogs. I live in, Hawaii, where I draw inspiration from the intersection of nature and technology. My goal with Ed Resonance is to provide teachers with high-quality, 'battle-tested' resources that make the hardest parts of teaching just a little bit easier.
