About the store

Experience

18 years teaching special education in both a self-contained and ICT classroom.

Teaching style

Hands on teaching through the use of exemplars and teacher student interaction. Once I have established a student's misunderstanding of a concept, I develop a graphic organizer to assist them with following the process in a way that allows them to develop an understanding of a specific pattern.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I measure my success on my ability to connect with my students and their families. Along with how I help my student improve and advance against themselves as they proceed through the standards.

My own education history

BS - History MS - Education / Students with disabilities

Additional biographical information

I believe in treating my students like people. I let them know that their interests and goals are important and help to form the prior knowledge they need to learn, even if they have not realized it yet.
