Teaching style

My teaching style centers on the total student, recognizing that meaningful learning begins with meaningful relationships. I believe the most important thing an educator can do is build strong, positive connections with students while supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. Every student deserves to feel safe, heard, seen, understood, and most importantly, loved. I strive to create a classroom environment where students are valued, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential. By fostering trust, respect, and genuine care, I help first-year teachers develop self-efficacy, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. My approach combines high expectations with compassion, ensuring that students are challenged academically while cultivating a learner-centered environment. I am also passionate about mentoring and supporting first-year teachers by sharing effective classroom strategies, encouraging professional growth, and helping new educators build confidence as they develop their own teaching style and classroom culture.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my shining moments as an educator has been establishing and founding “The Bridge and Bloom Initiative,” a program dedicated to supporting and mentoring first-year teachers as they transition into the profession. Through this initiative, I have focused on helping new educators build confidence, strengthen instructional practices, and develop positive classroom cultures. In addition, I developed a 3–5 year longitudinal study designed to transform and strengthen current teacher mentoring programs by identifying effective strategies that improve teacher growth, retention, and leadership development. I have also written over 100 educational leadership newsletters that provide insight, encouragement, and professional support to educators and leaders at all levels. These writings contribute to the broader body of educational literature while promoting collaboration, reflective practice, and continuous improvement in education.

My own education history

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master of Science in Emergency Management, a Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Advanced Educational Leadership, and a Principal Internship. I also hold teacher certification, remain committed to lifelong learning, educational leadership, and supporting both students and educators through effective teaching and mentorship.
