Experience

I am an international educator based in Beijing with experience teaching IB Diploma Programme Physics, A-Level Physics, and middle school science. I have taught in international and bilingual school environments for nearly a decade, working with diverse learners and multilingual classrooms. Alongside classroom teaching, I create educational tools and teaching resources through EDGROUND — a growing collection of classroom-focused tools, simulations, lesson materials, and teacher resources designed to make learning more visual, accessible, and engaging. My work combines evidence-informed teaching practices, educational technology, UX design principles, and practical classroom experience to help teachers teach smarter and students learn with confidence.

Teaching style

My teaching style focuses on clarity, structure, curiosity, and reducing unnecessary barriers to learning. I believe students learn best when complex ideas are made visual, interactive, and meaningful. I use simulations, modelling, retrieval practice, guided discussion, and carefully scaffolded activities to help students build understanding step by step. Many of my resources are designed with multilingual and EAL learners in mind, using clean layouts, explicit guidance, visual supports, and accessible language. I am especially interested in growth mindset, neuroplasticity, cognitive science, and the role educational technology can play in improving learning experiences for both teachers and students.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University) in South Africa. My background in engineering, physics, mathematics, and technology strongly influences the way I design lessons and educational resources. I also have experience in UX design, coding, and educational technology development, which I use to create interactive classroom tools and learning experiences.
