About the store
2012 marks my 5th year as a teacher, all in third grade! I moved to South Carolina right out of college to take a teaching job in Orangeburg, SC. I loved the kids and the great people I worked with, but we were a little homesick! My husband and I moved back to Michigan last year and were both blessed with teaching jobs in the same school in our hometown.

Experience

2012 marks my 5th year as a teacher, all in third grade! I moved to South Carolina right out of college to take a teaching job in Orangeburg, SC. I loved the kids and the great people I worked with, but we were a little homesick! Teaching style

I don't like to stand up in front of the room and lecture! YUCK! I prefer short, focused lessons, that's why workshops work great for me!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was listed as one of only six students from my graduating class in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

My own education history

I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a focus in social studies from Baker College of Owosso. I plan to start my graduate studies in January 2013 through Michigan State University.

Additional biographical information

In my free time, I like to garden, go geocaching with my husband, work on projects around the house, and TRAVEL! :)
