Thanksgiving Calorie Counter
This is a SUPER FUN Thanksgiving activity to complete on Thanksgiving day. I usually assign it as extra credit for students to help their math grade. Students have to track how many calories they eat on Thanksgiving day (from start to finish). I also allow students to follow other family members as well. They have a calorie count list to help them, and then they must fill out the sheet and list what was eaten (+ what time and how many calories). They then total up the calories for the day.

Thanksgiving Black Friday extra credit activities
This is a great set of activities to do when the Thanksgiving Black Friday holiday is approaching. It includes math and writing and the current math is up to about 3rd grade. See the Winter Specials for higher dollar values. Students are asked to pretend to spend money, write story problems, create receipts, etc.

MONSTER TRAPS
This is a FUN unit that I used with my 3rd grade class (would work for 3rd and above) to teach 21st century creative and critical thinking skills. It was a multi-subject project that lasted a few weeks and was worked on at school and at home. My kids LOVED this project. Be sure to also check out the self evaluation.

This is for third graders who are learning the many ways to model multiplication. I make an overhead of this sheet and then the students and I work through it together, showing all the ways multiplication can be modeled.

I am a teacher who will give kids the road map, but they have to do the learning. I am big on group projects, individual projects, peer teaching, active learning, and 21st century learning is one of my specialties.

I love to create. I've taught for a long time, and I am still revamping things to make them more fun, and more interesting to the kids. I am very excited to be apart of this website, as we all know that teachers are HIGHLY underpaid for their time in the industry...
