Over a decade in the classroom, a Master’s in Instructional Technology, and a passion for what works. 🎓 I’ve spent over a decade bridging the gap between complex standards and actual student engagement. Having trained fellow teachers on how to integrate tech and pedagogy effectively, I design my resources to be both high-tech and high-heart, meeting students exactly where they are to ensure no one gets left behind.

With 12 years of classroom experience and a Master’s in Instructional Technology, my teaching style is rooted in the belief that high-quality pedagogy should transcend any specific subject or curriculum. I’ve spent over a decade refining a "learning-first" approach that prioritizes cognitive clarity over busy work, based on a philosophy I’ve shared while training fellow educators and one I bake into every resource I create. My goal is to meet students exactly where they are, using intentional design and strategic scaffolding to turn high-level standards into accessible "aha!" moments. I serve as the Middle School Math Content Lead, a role where I mentor fellow educators and spearhead curriculum strategies that drive student mastery. My teaching philosophy is built on the idea that high-quality instruction should transcend any single subject, a belief validated by being honored with the Excellence in Inquiry-Based Science Award, the Distinguished Social Studies Educator of the Year, and the Heart of the Classroom Award for Social-Emotional Learning. My journey into education wasn't a straight line; it was a winding path carved out by my own struggles as a student navigating undiagnosed ADHD. For years, I felt the weight of being "smart but scattered," and that lived experience became the catalyst for my career: I was determined to be the teacher I once needed; someone who intuitively knows how to meet students where they are, rather than where a pacing guide says they should be. This mission eventually drove me to go back and earn my Master’s in Instructional Technology, equipping me with the tools to transform my classroom empathy into structured, accessible resources. Today, I channel that perspective into every product I create, ensuring that every learner (especially the ones who feel "behind") has the scaffolding they need to find their own "aha!" moment.

Beyond the classroom, my story started in Delaware, where I spent my formative years working at summer camps, learning early on that "teaching" happens everywhere, from the whiteboard to the campfire. Since then, life has been a beautiful whirlwind; I married my incredible wife, Megan, and we made the leap across the country to the Pacific Northwest. Now, when I’m not designing resources or leading math content, I’m busy raising our son, Asher, and soaking in everything the PNW has to offer. It’s this balance of "real life" family adventures and a decade-plus of professional passion that keeps my work grounded in what truly matters: making life easier for teachers and better for kids.
