Great introductory activity for September! Students explore the strands of science that they will cover in the school and have to find a way to demonstrate the concepts that will be covered on a cube that they must build! Hands on, and fun!

A reading activity for a mystery unit. The pre reading activity focuses on complex vocabulary building. The during reading portion asks students to predict and use justification, while the after reading focuses on reading comprehension.

Fermi Questions are a great way to build large sale estimation and problems solving skills with your students using real world, every day scenarios. While there is no correct answer, students must work systematically through various estimations using computational skills in order to produce an answer. Great class discussion to follow, as you examine the different strategies use to solve.
