Pixar Short films have great possibilities to enhance reading instruction, especially for students with low engagement.
This activity is great for introducing inferencing. As it has almost no speaking, the students must rely on what they notice and think (background knowledge-schema) about the film, without the distraction of dialogue.
This resource has a graphic organizer (front and back) for taking notes during or after the film. It also includes possible answers students may have covering
These are slips that can be used when a student does not complete an assignment. The student can turn a slip in in lieu of their incomplete assignment.
I print mine on red or yellow paper.
