This is project based learning opportunity for students to learn more about National Parks. Though the focus of this project is social studies, math and science are also integrated. In this research activity, students get the opportunity to plan a trip to one of the National Parks. The purpose of this project is not only to teach students about our wonderful National Park System and aspects of traveling new places, but to give students an authentic learning experience that they will love!

This is just a document of story starters that kids love to use! Some of them are silly, goofy, and weird, but they do help to jumpstart students’ writing. These are story starters that I made up and have used. If you like these, check out my essay prompts as well. I hope these help your students and save you a little bit of time! Happy teaching!
This is a detailed packet of information for when you have a substitute teacher come into your classroom. The pages of information could be placed into a folder or a binder that you leave when you are going to be absent. This 20-page packet includes pages for building information, class list, schedule and procedures, seating chart, and substitute feedback. This is an organizational resource that can be edited and used year after year!
This is a document of writing prompts to get kids thinking and reflecting. I think that this is so important for young people to do. Also, it is so fun as a teacher to read these essays and get a little bit of insight into our students’ lives. If you like these, check out my story starters as well. Wishing you wonderful writing, reading, and, of course, a happy year of teaching!
