I have taught and tutored since 2008 and I really appreciated it when I could find a quick activity for my students when needed. I enjoy creating similar activities that I can now pass along to my colleagues and other interested teachers.
This is a good activity for identifying and counting coins up to 50 cents using nickels and dimes. There are some areas that require computational thinking to add the coins which is great for the students to see it visually on the number line or they can skip count in their head.
This activity brings the value of coins to the students' attention and helps them learn to count the concrete materials as well as their assigned numerical value. Students will learn to skip count and count on a number line up to 50 cents with nickels, dimes and quarters.
This is a wonderful activity to do with Money Math. The students will learn to count on a number line with pictures of nickels up to 50 cents. There is space for them to draw a number line of their own.
A tip sheet for students to refer to when having difficulty coping in the classroom. Just post this somewhere that all the students have access to view it! It's great for Math Anxiety!
This is a wonderful exercise to help students learn addition using visual representations of different coins from nickels to toonies. There is an interesting extension about the type of metal that is used to produce the coins as well as extending the addition of some coins that add up to over 400 cents, use at your own descretion by referring to the answer sheet. This activity has an extension about the type of metals that are used to make the coins - great for gifted, exceptional, or just curious.

This is an activity such that the student will match the french vocabulary word to the image that best describes it. The words are basic vocabulary related to school. Sorry, you need to add the accents. :-)
