In this project students will choose from 3 options for jobs, housing, transportation and food shopping to make a monthly budget. Students will practice financial decision making and opportunity cost to see how their choices impact their monthly budget. Highly scaffolded, this project can be done in conjunction with class discussion or independently. The choices are based on cost of living in Philadelphia but options can be personalized to where you live and what is relevant to your students.
This two part project prompts students to discover different careers in science. In part one, they can explore 1-5 different careers and will research what that kind of scientist does each day, what kind of education is required for the job and what the working conditions are.
