A 5th-7th grade unit designed for the science classroom that focuses on the concepts of buoyancy, density, surface area, and the engineering process. It allows students to engage in experiments with each concept. Then, challenges the students to create their own boat using the concepts studied that can withstand weight and weather. The unit includes an experiment with buoyancy, an experiment with density, directions and specification for designing a boat, a price list for items used, and a ref
