Weekly Reflection Page

Great communication tool!! I use this page in my classroom every week throughout the year. On Fridays, it provides the students with a chance to reflect on what they've done well and not-so-well that week and record a goal they have for the following week. In my room, the students keep their reflection pages in a folder, which goes home on the weekends to be signed.

Field Trip Rubric

The rubric is a wonderful way to help communicate, enforce, and assess expectations about field trip behavior.

Missing Work Notice

I created this form to be able to communicate with parents about missing work. Because of the student's reflection section, it also provides an opportunity to learn about responsibility.

Vocabulary Costume Rubric

During the Halloween season I love to have my students choose a vocabulary word, learn it, and then dress up as that word. For example, a student this year dressed up as a tiger for "ferocious." This rubric communicated expectations for the project and gave appropriate structure for an assessment.

Test Preparation Log

I use this form for a variety of reasons. It is a simple way to insist that students reflect on how much effort they put into preparing for a test. It also helps keep the communication lines open between the three parties (student, parents, teacher).

Editable! Build relationships from the get-go! Use this form to gather information while you chat with your kids before you begin your reading and writing conferences.

Detailed Homework Log

I created this simple organizer for my students who were having trouble completing all of their homework on time. It helps me identify if work is taking too long or is too difficult, and it also requires all three parties (student, parents, teacher) to participate and be on the same page.

While You Were Out...

This is a great form for teachers to use when a student is absent. You can use it to fill out what work they need to catch up on, while they were out.

Student Grade Book

Amazing tool! I was tired of students not paying attention to graded work coming home. I was tired of parents asking me what the current grades were. Then I created this! When students get graded work returned to them now, they enter the assignment name and score into their gradebook. Then they do some quick math to find out their current grade in that class. Each weekend, my parents sign it to show that they are aware of their child's current status. I love this!

Teaching style

My Beliefs: *I have a passion for excellence, in my students and especially within myself as their teacher. *Teaching children is a wonderful privilege and an incredible responsibility. *Every child can learn. It is my job to figure out how each individual student learns best and teach them in that way. *I strive to catch the attention of every learner and give them every possible opportunity to grow intellectually and emotionally. *I love creating learning experiences that inspire curiosity within every type of learner. *I make a point to try to connect to each student in a personal way. I think that is the best motivational tool there is! *One of my goals is to prepare each student for the next grade level. However, the goal most important to me is to help them become the best person they can be for the rest of their life! *It is crucial for parents and teachers to have frequent communication and work together. We are each child’s biggest supporters and assets.
