I use this template to differentiate instruction for my entering and emerging ELLs when the language objectives in their classroom is too challenging for them. This breaks down a topic that students in the class might be studying in other ways into a simpler method for learning key terms for a lesson or unit. The full version has spaces for 10 vocab words, but you can edit to add more or less!
When students go above and beyond to do something kind for someone else, write their name on here. In our classroom, we have a V.I.P. binder. When the sheet is filled up, read off the names of the students and the nice thing they did to the class. I usually let them choose something out of our treasure chest as a reward if they get their name in the V.I.P. binder.
