I use this template to work with my entering and emerging ELLs in my stand alone ENL class. After learning vocabulary terms that are important in a core class, I reinforce the meanings of the words and also how syllables work with this syllabication template. I use this template to differentiate instruction for my entering and emerging ELLs when the language objectives in their classroom is too challenging for them. This breaks down a topic that students in the class might be studying in other ways into a simpler method for learning key terms for a lesson or unit.
