ELA Essentials Express

During my professional journey, I've had the privilege of accumulating four years of substantial experience in English Language Arts (ELA). I've also dedicated three years to teaching yearbook, which allowed me to foster creativity and effective communication skills in my students. Furthermore, I've spent two years specializing in teaching ACT Prep, where I honed my ability to prepare students for standardized testing, helping them achieve their academic goals.

My teaching style is rooted in a deep belief that my role as an educator is to serve as a guiding light on each student's unique educational journey. I see myself as a facilitator, here to provide the essential materials and knowledge while offering unwavering support and guidance as they navigate their learning path. My aim is to create an environment where students feel empowered to explore and learn, fostering their independence and critical thinking skills while knowing they have a reliable resource in me to help them succeed.

In pursuit of my passion for education, I embarked on my own academic journey at Oklahoma State University, where I diligently worked towards earning my degree in Secondary Education-English. This educational experience not only provided me with a solid foundation in pedagogy but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for the transformative power of learning. It was during these formative years that I honed my commitment to assisting others on their educational paths, ultimately shaping my approach as an educator dedicated to guiding students through their own enriching journeys.

I hold certification for administering the ACT and have proctored and facilitated several successful test administrations. Additionally, I have experience in overseeing and conducting state-mandated assessments (Oklahoma), contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the testing landscape within secondary education.
