About the store
Welcome to ELA Inkwell! With 25 years of experience in the classroom—primarily in a top Northern Virginia school district—I have developed a passion for creating rigorous, standards-aligned resources that build close reading, effective writing, critical thinking, and eloquent speaking skills. My background is rooted in teaching and developing curriculum for Honors English, Pre-AP English, and AP English Language & Composition. I firmly believe that all children are capable of success; some simply need a different route to achieve an academic goal. For the last 4 years, I have been teaching students in grades 4 through 12 in a small, private school for students struggling to succeed in the traditional classroom setting. I also have 3 years in the classroom helping adult learners pass the ELA & Social Studies tests for the GED. As a teacher and a former curriculum writer for a large-scale digital curriculum service, I design my materials with a focus on (1) ensuring students hit critical benchmarks, (2) creating equitable & accessible lessons with built-in scaffolds to support struggling readers and writers without sacrificing the rigor of Honors-level work, and (3) testing my materials in the classroom to ensure their value. When I’m not diving deep into literary or rhetorical analyses or crafting curriculum, I’m settling in my new home in Arizona with my husband and our two dogs. It has been my life’s greatest pleasure to teach, and I am honored to help support your classroom journey. Let’s connect! Follow ELA Inkwell for rigorous, ready-to-use resources that save you time and empower your students.
