Teaching style

I believe that students have to take an active role in their learning by engaging in creative problem solving, by making and creating written products (such as stories, books, journals, and digital media), and by learning how to think critically. Education should be about problem-solving, creativity, and storytelling--but this does not mean it should be easy. The brain is more engaged when the material is challenging.

My own education history

I have a BA and MA in English and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.
