Time is precious! As a junior high English teacher, my class periods were 45 minutes long—often shorter. Teaching style

Modeling how to think while reading and writing is the core of my teaching style. Color-code everything! My favorite quote about educating is from Rita Pierson: “Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”

Awards & shining teacher moments

Gold Award for Excellence in Writing from the Parenting Publications of America (4 times) Coached the 8th Grade Wordsmith team to win 1st Place!
