Students read The Crucible Act 2 closely as relationship counselors, looking at the relationship between Elizabeth and John. Students consider dialogue and stage directions, before writing advice to the couple. Standards-based rubric attached. Reading the Crucible? Give students a purpose for reading by having them read the text closely to answer the question: Are the Proctors and Hale allies or enemies? Students take notes while reading lines 188-315 in a graphic organizer. Then, students answer a prompt, using their text evidence gathered during reading. A standards-based rubric is included for grading.
