I've been an ART and PHOTOGRAPHY teacher for 14 amazing years and my background is all over the map! I've taught at Title I public schools, community college, and a multitude of summer camps and afterschool programs. These diverse teaching situations mean that I always have to be ready with creative & engaging projects for all levels and ages. Teaching style

My teaching style boils down to one simple strategy: ALWAYS BE PREPARED! Any experienced teacher knows that even the best laid plans can be derailed by something as simple as a fly in the classroom. Being able to think on your feet and quickly change course with diverse activities can be the difference between a smooth transition and classroom chaos!

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my favorite teaching moment is a blanket one. It's the moment that a student who has just told me they can't "do art" realizes they can. Kids tell me all day long that they can't draw, but it's one of my most treasured ideas that art can be fun and accessible for all. Art can be brought into almost any lesson, and the possibilities for creative careers are endless. You don't have to be able to draw anything hyper-realistically, just experiment and have fun!
