Experience

I have been a licensed educator in Clark County School District (Las Vegas, Nevada) since 2009, with over 15 years of classroom experience. I hold a Nevada Professional Teaching License and am endorsed to teach: • Visual Art (K–12) • English Language Acquisition & Development (ELAD / formerly TESL) • School Library Media Specialist (K–12) • Introductory Computer Science (K–12) • Gifted & Talented Education • Special Education (Generalist) My approach to art education is student-centered, structured, and practical. I design lessons and resources that are classroom-tested, easy to implement, and focused on helping students truly understand art concepts—not just complete projects.

Teaching style

I have been a licensed art teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada since 2009. I am licensed to teach Visual Art K–12 and hold “Highly Qualified” status. My approach to visual art education is student-centered and skill-focused, with an emphasis on building creativity, confidence, and real art understanding. I design lessons and resources that are practical for teachers and meaningful for students, offering clear instruction, thoughtful structure, and opportunities for creative choice. Students are exposed to a wide variety of art materials, techniques, and visual thinking strategies that support both artistic growth and classroom success.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I graduated with a 3.87 GPA, ranking in the top 15% of my class. More importantly, my proudest moments come from seeing students grow in confidence, take creative risks, and use art language to talk about their work. Those everyday breakthroughs are what continue to inspire the resources I create.

My own education history

• Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art Education, focus in Ceramics, Bowling Green State University — 2006 • Master’s Degree in Special Education University of Nevada, Las Vegas — 2011 • Master’s Degree in English Language Learning (ELL) University of Nevada, Las Vegas — 2023

Additional biographical information

I believe students are capable of incredible learning when they are given clear instruction, meaningful language support, and authentic opportunities to create. When students understand what they are learning, why it matters, and how to express their ideas, they gain confidence not only as artists, but as thinkers and communicators. My goal is to support both students and teachers by creating thoughtful, classroom-ready art resources that are easy to use, developmentally appropriate, and grounded in real classroom experience. Each resource is designed to build skills over time, strengthen art vocabulary and visual thinking, and help students take pride in their learning—while also saving teachers time and supporting diverse learners in the art room.
