I use these rubrics in my classroom to score student writing. Each item is based on an area that students get scored on during state testing (My class takes the CAASPP). My students use the checkoff sheets to make sure they have included everything that is needed for each writing piece. We also use the editing pencils and posters to help us improve our writing!
