This will be my third year teaching elementary school in Texas. I have taught 4th grade Reading, Writing, and Texas History for the past two years and will be teaching ELA and World Studies in 6th grade this coming school year.
This is a great scavenger hunt for Open House. This allows the students to guide their parents around the school to get familiar with their daily routine. It also allows movement around the WHOLE school so you don't have a room full of kids and parents at all times. If the students get their parents to initial 5 boxes in a row, they get a prize from you. You can add extra credit for those students who get the all of the boxes initialed. Have fun!
This PPT is great for the first day/week of school or even parent meetings. It allows you to edit each slide with the information you need. Great template to use that will save you time!
This is a great graphic organizer for recording how your students get home at the end of the day. There are 24 blanks with room to add more if needed. I keep mine on a clipboard to double check at dismissal time.
This is a card that parents can fill out with their contact information at the beginning of the year, or when you have a new student. Two cards per page. Includes blanks asking for their student/parent name, address, phone number, relationship to student, email address, best way to contact, and place for signature. Great for meet the teacher night or first day of school!
This "Check Mark" for understanding is a great visual to be used to monitor comprehension. The check mark can be used as a whole class visual or personal bookmarks. The check mark has the 5 W questions and can be easily referred back to when reading to self or reading aloud. Easy and fun way to check understanding!
