About the store
I have been working as a math coach and consultant for Math Solutions, a group started by Marilyn Burns (my hero!). Before that, I taught 1st, 2nd 4th, 5th, and 6th grades over the course of 12 years. My classroom was fun and engaging... a safe and happy space for kids to learn and share. I am especially passionate about elementary math. Over the years, I have collected and conducted research, and I currently provide professional development workshops and coaching for teachers. I work hard to ensure that all my students feel confident and happy at school.

Race to 6 Shapes: A Geometry Game
Hello teachers!
Race to 6 Shapes is a fun way to help students build, remember, and apply geometry vocabulary.
Students take turns picking cards with geometry terms and attributes, like "only obtuse angles" and "rhombus." If the card applies to a shape they need to win the game, they get to keep the shape. All of the vocabulary and descriptions are Common Core language and help prepare students for end of grade testing.
This game is simple, fun, and most importantly, effective!

Teaching style
My approach to elementary math is hands-on, concept-based learning. Kids should create their own understanding of math concepts through exploration with manipulatives, drawings, and discussion. I believe that ALL students are mathematicians.
