Elementary Math Corner and More

Students will love this activity! Giving them the opportunity to choose a future career, based on their salary, budget their monthly expenses-house bills, car bill, even doctor bills! Great way for students to have fun while working on their multiplication!

This project is differentiated for different learners (three levels-above, on, below). It combines the 4th grade math units of multiplication (area/volume) and social studies unit Native Americans. Students create real life artifacts based off of the blue prints created for this math project. Interactive, creative and rigorous work!

This product is a presentation meant to be presented to staff at any point in the school year. Presentation contains information about creating a student centered classroom with different activities for staff to partake in to walk away with an idea of how to better manage their classroom.

This project is perfect for the beginning of fourth grade. It contains a preview of fourth grade math work and gives great insight into what students are able to accomplish at the start of the school year. Project is differentiated for three levels (above, on, below).

This project takes students through the steps of the scientific process. After making their own canoes and wrapping them in plastic wrap, students can then put their canoes to work and determine if they will sink or float. There are 3 differentiated projects based on student levels.

This presentation is intended for teacher PD but can easily be modified for the classroom as well. Presentation contains information about changing your mindset from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Presentation includes activities, videos, etc.

Students can use this checklist to classify the types of mistakes they've made on their math tests. Then can then use the chart to classify the mistake, fix the mistake and explain where they went wrong. This helps students to understand the types of mistakes that they most often make to learn from their work.

This product can be used a checklist to ensure that students are taking the necessary steps to "make their thinking visible" in math. This checklist can be modified for lower grades as well.

This product is aligned to the Grade 4 Common Core Standards. I use it after my students take a pre-test, they use this checklist daily to track their own progress for each standard. They create their own goal for the standard and track when they meet their goal. Can be modified for lower graders.
