Students use this tracker for progress on the website 99math. The teacher signs after so many levels for students to receive a prize. This is to encourage extra practice!
Use the saying "Can't Stop Solving Cases" and calling the students "investigators" to get students excited about solving math word / story problems. At times students can be lost on where to begin when solving story problems, this can be used as a way to teach a strategy for processing word / story problems.
Poster of math affirmations! Use as decoration or as part of your instruction! Have students chorally read the affirmations or have a student read them to the whole class! Confidence is key!
Print the document. Cut the document so that there are 6 problem cards. Split students into 6 groups. Give each group one problem. Have students put 1-6 on a piece of paper. Have them write an inequality for each situation on the problem card. Make sure they write the answer on their paper on the number the corresponds with their card. After about five minutes, have tables rotate cards till all tables have written an inequality for all each card. You could also tape up the problems aroun

Three 6th grade NWEA MAP Math Testing worksheets with answer keys and examples worked out. Great for practice before taking MAP math assessment. There are 36 problems total spread over three worksheets. Other grades can use since MAP testing isn't grade specific.
This is a practice and a quiz for mean, median, mode, and range as it is taught in Unit 1 of the 6th grade Everyday Math curriculum. The practice and quiz have 10 questions. Both forms follow the same pattern just different set of data for each. I used this on a flex day with students who were struggling with this specific concept and they were allowed to use these as notes when they took the final Unit 1 assessment / test.
