About the store

Experience

As an experienced educator with nine years of teaching elementary students in Texas, I have had the privilege of instructing students in 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. Throughout my teaching journey, I have discovered a genuine passion for teaching math and fostering a love for the subject among my students.

Teaching style

In the vibrant classrooms I create, mathematics becomes an exciting adventure, filled with exploration and discovery. I believe in making math engaging by incorporating hands-on activities, real-world examples, and interactive technology to bring concepts to life. By presenting math in a relatable and accessible manner, I strive to empower my students with the confidence and skills they need to excel in this critical subject. One of my greatest joys is witnessing the "aha" moments when students grasp a new mathematical concept or overcome a challenging problem. I emphasize the importance of critical thinking, problem-solving strategies, and logical reasoning in my lessons, equipping students with the tools they need to navigate complex mathematical problems independently. In alignment with the Texas curriculum standards, I ensure that my students develop a strong foundation in numeracy, operations, algebraic thinking, geometry, measurement, and data analysis. By scaffolding instruction and differentiating my lessons, I address the diverse learning needs of my students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Awards & shining teacher moments

In 2019, I was honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award, a recognition that highlights my dedication and passion for education. However, my most fulfilling achievement is witnessing the remarkable growth in every one of my students. Their progress and development are the true reflections of my commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning.

My own education history

With a Bachelor's degree in Education and a strong foundation in the Texas math curriculum, I have equipped myself with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively teach mathematics to elementary students. Alongside my formal education, I have also participated in numerous trainings and professional development opportunities, ensuring that I am up-to-date with the best practices in math instruction.

Additional biographical information

With almost 30 years of marriage and two incredible daughters, I've entered a new chapter of my life as an empty nester. While continuing to teach in the classroom, I'm also dedicated to creating valuable resources on Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT).
