These books were created for students who rely too much on picture clues. By having words only, it forces them to look at the letters in words when trying to read. The books are for beginning readers and uses only Pre-Primer Dolch sight words and words with three phonemes. I use these in small group and read each page aloud together then set a sand timer for 30 seconds so they can add the picture that should go with the words. This is a compilation of word cards for various word patterns (double vowel, magic e, bossy R, whiners, 3 phonemes, 4 phonemes, 5 phonemes, digraphs, and blends.) The cards can be used for games, literacy centers, or as a resource. They can be used for a basic game in which students read the word on the card they pick.
