These books were created for students who rely too much on picture clues. By having words only, it forces them to look at the letters in words when trying to read. The books are for beginning readers and uses only Pre-Primer Dolch sight words and words with three phonemes. I use these in small group and read each page aloud together then set a sand timer for 30 seconds so they can add the picture that should go with the words. They can also be used as an independent reading center once studen
