This is a chapter-by-chapter book club plan for Frindle designed for fourth grade. Students read one chapter per day and then answer questions about the text. The plan is aligned to 4th grade ELA standards and focuses on key reading skills such as character development, theme, vocabulary in context, inference, and understanding the author’s message. It is structured to be low prep and flexible for small groups.

This is a letter knowledge assessment. The letters are broken up into 3 sets. In each set the students will need to identify uppercase, lowercase, and sound for each letter. The page is set up so that the student can be assessed several times over the course of the year. This is an excellent tool for showing progress (or no progress) over time.
