This Zip file includes reading comprehension passages on the Paleo, Archaic, Woodland, and Mississippian Indians as well as two assessments and a Smart Notebook review lesson. These materials meet the new Tennessee social studies standard 4.1 and also provide practice in Common Core literacy.

This set includes short reading passages about early explorers including Columbus, Vespucci, Magellan, la Salle, de Soto, Hudson, and Cartier along with vocabulary and blank maps for tracing routes. The set also includes a Smart Notebook review lesson that includes bulleted highlights from each explorer's career as well as route maps.
