This recording log is a great way for students to log and keep track of the books they read each day. The log allows students to keep track of the amount of books read, the date they read the book and a section for them to record the book and author. At the end of each entry students can reflect on their independent reading and draw a face to symbolize how well they did. Teaching style

I am very much a teacher who wants children to engage in their learning. My lessons are always very hands on. I believe in having children talk about their learning with their peers. I also focus my ELA lessons around the 7 reading comprehension strategies. I model all my lessons with clear objectives. Gradually I release the responsibility to the minds of my students and give them opportunities to apply what they learn independently.
