Experience

I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade for over 10 years! Year 1: 2nd grade Writing, Science, and Social Studies Year 2: 1st and 2nd grade math Year 3: 2nd grade self-contained (all subject areas) Year 4-5: 3rd grade self-contained (all subject areas) Year 6+: 3rd grade math and science

Teaching style

My teaching style is structured and repetitive for opportunities to change and create new ways of learning! Social and emotional connection is my first priority because I've seen first-hand "they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." Students always shape how a year goes! Not one way of teaching works for all kids so I am always trying to find a way to make lessons reach all kids. Always open to a student (or adult) who wants to convince me to do something different- many times student suggestions are the reason I make a change!
