Teaching style

I love to create a classroom environment where students claim their education and learn to advocate for themselves. My lessons are engaging, rigorous, and encourage students to be confident in asking questions and learning from one another. I believe in clear instructions, in-class modeling, student-led discussions/problem-solving, supporting diverse learners, and lots of feedback. I want students to have many opportunities to learn from their mistakes, so my lessons and activities provide that. For me, teaching is more than just helping your student get a better grade, it is a unique opportunity to build a meaningful relationship, develop grit, help your students find their voice, and witness the transformative moment when a they finally grasps a difficult concept or discover their passion.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have a 98% pass rate for both of my AP classes for the last 4 years. I specialize in teaching writing instruction and have done several workshops at my school to help other support other teachers on how to instruct writing in their classroom.

My own education history

My passion for literature and language started from a young age, and only grew as time passed. Everything I do in education is driven by my desire to help students express themselves with clarity and confidence. After becoming a stay-at-home mom, I gravely missed the classroom and the opportunity it provided to help students prepare for college and grow in their reading and writing abilities. Therefore, I created Elevate with Enola - a dedicated space for students to grow in their reading and writing skills, master complex coursework like AP Literature, AP Language, and the SAT. I remember being a first-year teacher, overwhelmed by lesson planning and creating a curriculum that was aesthetic, engaging, and rigorous. It was exhausting and defeating when I could not give my best to the students because I was working to lesson plan with clear instructions and diverse activities. The extra time I spent to perfect my units is something I am very proud of, and I want to share it with others so that they can be more present for their students.
