Here are some really cute characters you can use to spice up your lessons. This is the first set to be loaded - they are sports characters. If you have suggestions of other types of things you might need please let me know. All are high res and can be used up to 14inches long without pixillation. I also be happy to send you individual images of the balls and helmet if you would like them separate from the people as well. No worries.

The Common Core requires increased reading and writing in ALL Classes. However, it is challenging to engage children in writing and reading when outside of English class. This assignment works with students to have them read and break down articles, summarize them, and then create graphic representations of said reading. I have attached an assignment sheet and a bubble map. I have also included links to articles that my students used as well as the smartboard presentation I used to present the a

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching as a graphics teacher for 3 years now. I have a bachelors degree from NC State School of Design in graphics as well as a masters in teaching technology education from NC State. I also worked as a freelance graphic designer with a variety of companies between my two degrees.

Teaching style

I run my class in a very creative, upper-level thought process way. There is a lot of self discovery. Though self-discovery is important, whenever the students research on their own I always try to bring them back and make sure everyone is on the same page. Creativity and thinking skills are what are job market needs and my effort is to promote and help students develop those skills.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have an article published in the Technology Teacher, ITEA magazine. I am also currently a writer for a technology professional development grant that NC State and VA Tech are working on.

My own education history

Early education in NY. College and grad school at NC State.

Additional biographical information

Creativity is really important - this is the thing we need to focus on in school. Thinking skills stem from the ability to be creative.
