My passion is helping older newcomer students feel respected, supported, and challenged as they grow in their English proficiency. My materials are Designed for high school newcomers – no “babyish” content, but accessible and engaging. Scaffolded for success – step-by-step supports that allow students to build skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Culturally responsive – honoring student identities and experiences while teaching essential academic English. Classroom tested – built from decades of real-world experience with multilingual learners.
