This is a game that can be used as an icebreaker at the beginning of the year or as a morning meeting greeting at any point throughout the year. It's a great way for students to get to know each other and to give them an opportunity to develop their oral language skills. Great for students who are learning English as a second language! Simply print, cut out and distribute! Students look at the picture on their card and explain whether they do or don't like the activity. Enjoy!

With this activity students will cut out pictures and paste them into the appropriate category according to the long vowel sound that they hear in the middle or end of each word. The pictures are placed along the bottom of the page so that you can teach students how to cut them out without creating any paper scraps! Targets the following early literacy skills: - phoneme segmentation - long vowel sound identification - letter/sound correspondence
