Currently teaching Kindergarten after years in 4th grade and 1st grade. I've also taught 3,4,5 grades through student teaching, summer school, long term subbing, Newcomer ELD and reading intervention groups.
I'm using this activity with elementary Newcomer students... and have used it with Kinder in the past.
Your students can grow grass, or whatever spring plant you wish and watch it grow while making predictions and recording their results!
Enjoy :)
Want classroom currency? Here are what I like to call "Brain Bucks." They worked well alongside team points with my 2nd and 3rd graders. Students earned money for jobs, using complete sentences when speaking, following directions the first time, wearing uniforms, helping classmates, staying organized, etc. Then, spent their money in the classroom store (reasonable items at "inflated" classroom prices).
Use these however you like to keep your classroom running smoothly.
HEADS UP! You will want
Starting these soon with the first graders! Use them to your needs :)
