The importance of communicating with parents is high. So is data collection. Use this log to track parent communication by phone call/ email occurrence or by student. The log is available in color or black and white and with or without pictures. Print as many copies as you need as you track your data throughout the year.

Breaking down behavior goals into hour or half hour chunks is more manageable for students to achieve! Use stickers, your own mark, or happy/ sad faces to show students if they have met the goals within the time frame and show the ability to reset in the next half-hour or hour. Easily laminated and used with dry erase markers or printed and kept in a binder/ folder for daily tracking. Quickly make a copy to share daily behavior with parents.

The youngest of learners can identify how their face and body looks. A reflection journal for those who are practicing their writing! Placing this journal in a calm down corner for students to draw their face, body and describe their feelings. Students can also draw how they will calm down. Print in either black and white or color! Suggested use would be to pair with a mirror and cool down chart for options on how to reset.

When you send your children to the cool down corner, or they chose to go on their own, do they tend to sit? Allow them options with a choice board. This will also keep the "cannots" out of the cool down corner. Print pages in color or black and white, with pictures or words. Each page should be printed double sided to allow for a reflection sheet on the back of the choice board.

When trying behavior strategies, documentation is a must! Make sure to keep notes on what has worked, what has not and what the next steps are. Either keep and ongoing list for your entire class, or choose 1 page per student in need.
