This document contains 10 problems challenging students to write equations of parallel and perpendicular lines. It is a self checking activity, as students move from one problem to the next. Post these problems around the classroom, shuffling the order. Students may pick any problem to begin. Once they complete the first problem, they should look for their answer on another card around the room. That card is now their new problem to complete. In this activity, students practice finding slopes by using a graph, a table, the slope formula, and writing it in a sentence. Students use the same two points and represent the slope four different ways. This helps students connect that although there are multiple ways to represent slope, all methods have the same result. There are five different sets of points for students to solve, including slopes that are fractions, zero and undefined.
