Experience

Hello parents and educators! I have over 7 years in education. I have done substituting for about 2.5 years. I did primarily life skills and special education students. Teaching style

Teaching should be fun , engaging, and personalized. I try to customize lessons to each student and their personal needs. If a kid has a specific interest, I will try to adapt lessons accordingly. I also love adding in practical real life skills. I love helping students develop a love of learning so they can be lifelong learners.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have a 4.9 rating when it comes to my tutoring. It's nice to see huge progress in students as well as smiles at the end of class. From a parent review: "Emily has been an absolute gem when it comes to nurturing and enhancing our 7-year-old daughter's language skills. From the very start, Emily has proven herself to be a wonderful mentor, and we couldn't be more pleased with her teaching approach. One of the standout qualities of Emily is her resourcefulness and thoughtfulness in making the classes engaging and interactive for young learners."

My own education history

I have a Bachelors Degree in Family and Human Services with a minor in Education. I also have a TEFL certification from the International TEFL Academy.

Additional biographical information

I have always loved education. When I was a kid, I was creating lesson plans for my toys to enjoy class. I also begged my parents for worksheets during the summer. Now, I enjoy the creativity and brain work in creating worksheets for others to enjoy! I have lived in Texas, and now am currently in Oklahoma. Some things I enjoy doing for fun including exploring local parks, making earrings, basketball, and kayaking!
