About the store
I began working with children at age 12 when I became the Cubbies craft organizer for a local AWANA program. I got my first tutoring job in 2020 at age 16, where I tutored my neighbor in general subjects such as math, writing, and science. The following year I started working with a middle school student in math and spelling and teaching private recorder lessons. In 2022 I started teaching private piano lessons and two group recorder classes. 2023 was the amazing year I was introduced to the wonderful world of curriculum development, and Recorder Kaleidoscope is the first product to show for it! In 2024, I received my first "official" teaching job as a 3rd Grade Teacher at Ambleside School of Colorado. Let this new season begin!

Experience

Teaching style

I was introduced to a fantastic teaching approach after reading the book "8 Great Smarts" by Dr. Kathy Koch. Later, I learned about Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences in one of my college classes. I love the idea of finding how each student is smart and helping them find ways to embrace those smarts. I have taken the time to discover how each of my tutoring students is intelligent, and I enjoy integrating their intelligences into various aspects of the lesson. I want learning to be fun, but I also want it to be a healthy challenge.

My own education history

I was homeschooled from kindergarten all the way through high school, and it was the greatest blessing of my life. I began testing out of college classes when I was 15, and when I graduated from high school in 2022, I had over 70 college credits under my belt. I am received my B.Ed. in Elementary Education from Liberty University Online in May 2024.
